We introduced to the RC Community this outstanding Series of A123's, now dubbed the 'FlightMaster Series', back in 2006. These packs, switches & charger cables are configured for ease of use with and in the radio equipment setups and layouts favored by RC Scale and and Competition Pilots in projects that weigh up to about 25 pounds. Cabling & connector formats are based on Standard RC connectors for ease of balance charging and we provide for seamless power delivery & connectivity with your Rx's and Servos. We designed and deployed the 'Single Cable' (Combo Cable) charging and cell check solution for 2s 6.6v A123's in 2008. At the same time we provided the means to accomplish seamless in-plane cell checks and balance charging via ED's excellent UltraSwitchII that we upgraded in-house to 20 awg twisted cabling. Current handing capability of this uprated system is limited not by the pack's ability to handle heavy loads.. but instead, by the current handling capabilities of the R/C System Standard 'JR/FJ Universal' plugs and contacts, as well as the switch's traces and contacts. (3 amps thru the plugs, up to 10 amps on the switch) This 'Combo' system, involving a matched pack, quality upgraded switch and charger cabling is still the 'Gold Standard' for R/C projects up to @ 25 lbs weight. Our line of blue-shrink covered packs, now dubbed the 'FlightMaster Series', has been in production now for 20+ years and they continue to be an outstanding fit for most 1/5 & 1/4 scale projects. FlightMaster Series Packs are carefully assembled, welded, cabled and finished to order and are suitable for most 1/5 & 1/4 scale projects up to about 25 pounds. We use 1/4" wide HD nickel quad welded (eight welds per side) straps and tabs, strain relieved 20g wiring and Universal (FJ/JR) connectors are standard. Every pack is equipped with access to individual cells for ease of balance charging and pre flight voltage checks. FlightMaster packs are available with custom-configured 'Combo' single lead 20g cabling, matching HD switches with 20g cabling & connectors & a 'Single lead 20g Combo Solution' Charger cable, all configured for your charger to provide simple in-the-plane balance charging at 1C rates and provide simple in-plane access to the packs for voltage and cell balance checks.
FlightMaster HC Series Packs are configured for the higher current loads expected with aggressively flown giant scale aerobatic aircraft as well as 1/4 & 1/3 scale projects from 25 pounds up to approximately 50 pounds. FlightMaster HC packs are all cabled with 16g wire and utilize MR30 high-current connectors to provide exceptional current handling. To provide unrestricted power to your Rx, Servos, Ignition and Radio gear we've developed a 'drop-in' high-current capable replacement for the 20g 'Combo Solution Switch' .. our new 'SwitchMaster' can handle up to 30 amp momentary loads, easily permits 10 amp Fast Field Charging and provides a certain and absolute means of instantly - with no fussing about- disconnecting your pack from all devices for transport or storage of the model. Our system also enables simple & quick access for in-plane balanced 4C fast charging and cell checks .

1200 Series FlightMaster 6.6v COMBO FEED The 'Combo Feed' Single Lead 1200 Series 18650 Sized 6.6v 2 cell Rx/Ignition Pack This is A123's little powerhouse... small footprint and light weight make it a favorite pick as the Ignition Pack for sport and scale setups in the 50cc class. It's also gained quite a bit of popularity as the Rx pack of choice in smaller glow sport- scale birds and we've seen them run in parallel on the little 3D/Pattern birds for reliability and weight savings. This configuration (as shown, left) is set up with the simple, single 'Combo' 20g three wire combined balance and power feed. 1200 Series FlightMaster A123 18650 sized 2 Cell 'Conventional' Separate Power & Balance Lead Pack 6.6v These 18650 sized A123 packs are finished with your choice of Power Feed (20g JR/FJ is standard, other types, larger gauge's add'l $) and a standard JR/Univ or JST-XH 22g Balance Connector. Intended for use with systems requiring a 2 wire power feed to either a Power Expander or Fail Safe type switches that cannot utilize a three wire connection at the switch chargeport.
1200 Series FlightMaster 6.6v STANDARD The 'Conventionally' Cabled 1100 Series 18650 Sized 6.6v 2 cell Rx/Ignition Pack This configuration (as shown, left) is set up with the original type cabling formats, with a separate 20g JR/FJ power feed -OR- 16g power feed (Deans, EC3, XT-60, etc) and a 22g JR/Univ or JST-XH balance connector. With the this 'conventionally cabled' pack you'll need to connect both the power feed and balance lead to the charger for balance charging. Select the JST-XH balance lead for a 2 lead standard connection to your charger. Select the JR/Univ balance lead for connection to the charger using our Combo Charger Cable (scroll down for A123 Accessories) or use one of our JR/Univ to JST-XH adapters for balance charging. It's available with either XT-60 or Banana Plug power connector and a JST-XH balance board plug. The Combo Charger Cord terminates in a single 20g three wire JR/Univ Female connector... ready to plug into our Combo Switch chargeport so you can check individual cell voltages and balance charge at the field without having to directly access the pack.
